Ken Schwaber co-developed the Agile process, Scrum. He is a founder of the Agile Alliance and Scrum Alliance, and signatory to the Agile Manifesto. Ken has been a software developer for over thirty years. He is an active advocate and evangelist for Agile processes.
ABSTRACT
Scrum is an amazingly simple process that causes many, many changes when it is implemented. This seminar presents the basic framework of Scrum and some of the implementation issues associated with it.

Google Search Greasemonkey Script

This is a nice script that can convert your Google search page from this:

Features (From the developers page):

• Allows you to select 1,2,3 and 4 columns of Google results. You can now use more of your screen space with less scrolling (based on the original concept of Two Column Google by Jeffrey Sharkey)
• A background or border hue to your search results. Now configurable from the user dialogue with a simple color picker! glooble
• Remove the Google "Sponsored Links". Like you need Google telling you where to buy stuff!
• Result numbering. When looking at loads of results you can use this feature to quickly identify where you are and what relevance they may have (especially useful when we come to Auto-loading more results!)
• Auto-load more results. Seen else where on userscripts.org. This version of the scripts code has been streamlined to allow almost seamless result fetching when you approach the bottom of the screen. Never have to load the next page by hand! (based on the Definitive Google Auto Pager by Paweł Kubisz)
• Remove the web search dialogues from your Google pages. If you use the Google Toolbar for Firefox why waste your valuable screen space when you can hide the extraneous elements away.
• Make external Google links open in a new window/tab. Now this is configurable in your Google preferences but not with the distinction between when your searching and when your using iGoogle. Well now you can!
• Disable Google tracking your search results. Every time you click a link in your search results, the click gets reported back to Google for their statisticians to ponder over. If you are signed in to a Google account this click will be recorded in your search history. This function allows you to disable this reporting to Google completely or add an extra "Trackless" link to each of your search results
• Self updating when a new version of the script is available. Using the same technology seen in my other scripts you'll always be notified of updates. This feature checks userscripts.org every 24hours for later versions of the script. Opening the preferences will force a check there and then (although there is possible caching by FF).
• Thumbnails for each of your results. Incorporating resources from GooglePreview.com now allows you to see a thumbnail of the home page of each of your search results. If you use this feature think about helping out with the server costs and donate!
• favicons for each of your results. Show the sites favicon if you so choose... and, of course, they actually have one !)
• And all of this can be configured through one simple screen. Simply click on the GoogleMonkeyR link at the top right of the page and pick your preferences.
  The original idea/concept for this wonderful preferences screen came from the Rllmuk User Ignore List script written by Jonathan Buchanan (his web site). Reading his code made me stop and look at how i wrote my own code... and then think about going back to school. Hats off!

Firefox popup blocker blocks ctrl-V from Google Reader

Found the solution on Google Groups (Google Reader Help):

1. In a Firefox window, enter "about:config" in the address bar.
2. In the "Filter" field, type "popup_maximum".
3. One preference, called "popup_maximum" appears; double-click the
"value" number.
4. Enter a new, appropriately large value. I used 2000, just to be on
the safe side.

Shortcuts for Special Gmail Labels

In Gmail every built-in view (e.g.: inbox, trash, read mail) is actually a label. So if you want to view all the unread messages from the inbox, you could search for: label:inbox label:unread. You can combine these built-in labels with your labels and create interesting queries. But these queries can become long and hard to write. Fortunately, you can replace label with l and everything with still work fine. The previous query will become: l:inbox l:unread. If you still think the query is too long, Gmail has shortcuts for the special labels. ^b chats ^f sent mail ^i inbox ^k trash ^r draft ^s spam ^t starred messages ^u unread mail That means our query could become: l:^i l:^u. What about all the unread messages that aren't in the inbox? Search for: -l:^i l:^u. Source

mute the conversation with the Gmail keyboard shortcut "m"

The message is immediately removed from the Inbox view and all future messages (with similar subject line) will be archived automatically. You can search for muted messages using the search operator - is:muted And unless your email address is in the To: or CC: field, that email thread will never touch your Gmail inbox again. Muted unread mail, search using this query "label:^g is:unread"

Google AutoPager (Greasemonkey)

Firefox with Greasemonkey: AutoPager enables "infinite scrolling" on Google search-results pages.

Typically, when you get to the bottom of a search page, you have to click Next to view the next batch of results. Not so with AutoPager: It fetches and appends the next batch as you scroll down, creating the illusion of infinite scrolling. Obviously you could just increase the number of results that appear when you search, but that makes for longer load times. AutoPager retrieves extra results a page at a time, as needed. Great little script; works like a charm.

(inurl:) is optional and may be omitted and in fact most be omitted if not using a search tool other than google.

(intitle:) can be used in place of (inurl:) and has a similar effect again you must be useing google.

(-filetype:txt) adding this to the end of your search string can filter some false positives.

(-playlist) adding this to the end of your search string can filter some false positives.

Suggestions : - Try (intitle:index.of + "mp3" + "band name" -htm -html -php -asp) first it is usually the most effective.

Another Little Trick: - If you have been getting alot of results on google but the pages don't seem to be there try adding dates and the "apache" string to your search i.e.

- intitle:index.of + mp3 + "grandaddy" -html -htm -php -asp apache feb-2005 - intitle:index.of + mp3 + "grandaddy" -html -htm -php -asp apache 2005

or if you just want a big list of mp3' doing a search like this every month - intitle:index.of + mp3 + -html -htm -php -asp apache mar

4) break up the url into its parts (site,port,locations) so here we have site: example.com port: 80 location: /stream/1074

5) Uset telnet to Send HTTP GET message and redirect output. The request is

Tags are sort of like search terms and categories combined. Searching anyone of these bookmark sites for the type or music or band you like is almost sure to bring up lots of links to free mp3s. How to Replace Outlook Calendar with Google Calendar

If you are an Outlook user that loves Google Calendar, this Tech-Recipe will show you how to replace the built-in calendar link with Google Calendar.

Replacing the calendar link is quick and easy! Just follow these steps:

1) Right-click on the Calendar in the folder list, and choose Properties

2) Click on the Home Page tab, and enter the following link into the address box:

http://www.google.com/calendar/

3) Check the box that says "Show home page by default for this folder"

4) Enjoy!

Tip #1: If you wanted both calendars in Outlook, you can create a new folder, and then follow the same steps.
